SUCRIVOIRE and SONOCO METAL PACKAGING SIEM get suspended on the BRVM

Two Ivorian stocks froze on Wednesday 16 September 2026. In two separate notices, the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières suspended trading in SUCRIVOIRE and in SONOCO METAL PACKAGING SIEM, formerly Eviosys Packaging SIEM. Same decision, two different reasons.

For SUCRIVOIRE, Notice No. 269 cites Article 1511 of the BRVM’s trading rules and Instruction II-C: the company holds material, not-yet-public information capable of moving its share price. The suspension runs until SUCRIVOIRE publishes its announcement. The context sharpens the wait. A SIFCA group subsidiary, SUCRIVOIRE has been the BRVM’s standout performer in 2026, with its share price rising from roughly 1,030 FCFA to over 3,000 FCFA, despite a net loss of 7.9 billion FCFA in its last financial year.

For SIEM, the suspension is a sanction for non-compliance with regulations. Already suspended in September 2025 after repeated delays in publishing its accounts, the company only returned to the market in January.

A useful reminder: a suspension freezes all orders in the stock. It is not a punishment for shareholders but a safeguard for equal access to information.
