Which banks are advising the Dangote IPO? Here's what's confirmed as of now — and why the full list ...

Large IPOs are typically run with the help of investment banks acting as underwriters or issuing houses, who help structure the deal, build a book of investor demand, and manage the offer process. Naturally, people want to know which banks are working on the Dangote Refinery IPO.

Here’s the honest answer: as of this writing, we have not seen a publicly confirmed, official list of the specific investment banks or issuing houses formally engaged on the Dangote IPO. What is confirmed is that Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s “advisers” — referenced generally by Nigeria’s SEC Director-General Emomotimi Agama when discussing the August 2026 filing — are actively working with the regulator to process the application. Agama’s comments confirmed that advisers exist and are engaged, but did not name them publicly in the reporting available.

This is actually fairly normal for this stage of an IPO. Companies and their banks sometimes confirm issuing houses closer to when a prospectus is published, since that document formally lists the parties involved in the offer (issuing houses, receiving banks, solicitors, auditors, and so on) as a matter of regulatory disclosure.

If you’re trying to verify who’s involved, the most reliable approach is to wait for one of these: an official company press release naming its advisers, a statement from a bank itself confirming its role (banks sometimes announce major mandates), or the eventual SEC-approved prospectus, which will list all formal parties to the offer as a legal requirement.

Be cautious of any article or social media post naming specific banks without citing a primary source (a company statement, a bank’s own announcement, or a regulatory filing) — in a deal generating this much public interest, unconfirmed speculation about advisers circulates easily. We’ll update this space once Daba can confirm adviser names against a primary source rather than repeating unverified claims.
