Daba Finance Featured on Les Têtes d’Affiches by Denise Epote on RFI
Daba Finance was recently spotlighted on the iconic radio program Les Têtes d’Affiches on RFI, through a dedicated chronicle authored by Denise Epote.
This feature marks a significant moment for Daba, placing the company among the most structurally important African fintech initiatives of a new generation—those reshaping how capital is accessed, invested, and retained on the continent.
In her chronicle, Denise Epote revisits the journey and vision of Boum III JR, who co-founded Daba Finance in September 2021 alongside Anthony Miclet. The ambition behind the platform is clear and consistent: to democratize access to investing in Africa and allow Africans, both on the continent and in the diaspora, to participate directly in wealth creation.
A Response to Two Structural African Realities
The chronicle first highlights a fundamental reality. Every year, tens of billions of euros flow from the African diaspora back to the continent. While these remittances are essential, they are largely used for consumption and rarely converted into long-term, productive assets. As a result, they contribute little to sustainable wealth creation.
Daba Finance was created to change this dynamic—by enabling Africans and members of the diaspora to invest directly in Africa’s real economy rather than remaining passive financial supporters.
The second reality is equally striking. Despite Africa being one of the fastest-growing regions globally, and despite the strong performance of many African companies and stock markets, access to investment has historically been limited to a small elite. High minimum investment thresholds, administrative complexity, and expensive intermediaries have long excluded the vast majority of Africans from participating in capital markets.
Daba was built specifically to remove these barriers.
Investing in Africa, Simply and Transparently
As highlighted in Denise Epote’s chronicle, Daba Finance now enables users to invest in listed stocks, government bonds, and investment funds directly from their smartphones. Investments can be made in CFA francs, euros, or US dollars, with accessible minimum amounts.
Today, Daba’s investment products are primarily focused on West Africa (the WAEMU region), with ongoing expansion toward Central Africa. Beyond execution, the platform embraces a long-term vision that combines investment access, financial education through Daba Academy, and guided investing via Daba Pro, empowering users to make informed decisions aligned with their goals.
Growing Media and Institutional Recognition
This feature on Les Têtes d’Affiches adds to a growing list of recognitions received by Daba Finance, including the Ecobank Fintech Challenge, the Africa Fintech Summit, and multiple international innovation awards. Together, these acknowledgments reinforce Daba’s role as a trusted infrastructure player in Africa’s evolving financial ecosystem.
