ATC's Africa unit partners with MTN Nigeria on wireless connectivity
American Tower Corporation's Africa operations (ATC Africa) and MTN Nigeria have recently disclosed a new agreement aimed at bolstering wireless connectivity throughout Nigeria. According to the terms of the agreement, ATC Africa will facilitate additional tenancies for MTN Nigeria over the course of several years, beginning in the second half of 2024.
The plan involves meeting MTN Nigeria's site needs by tapping into ATC Africa's extensive portfolio, which comprises over 8,000 sites in Nigeria, with a significant portion already equipped with green energy solutions. Moreover, new sites will be deployed following ATC Africa's green site specifications.
Marek Busfy, Senior Vice President and CEO of ATC Africa expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "We're thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with MTN Nigeria.
