Is there an official Dangote IPO price yet? Here's what's known about the private placement price vs...

One of the most common questions about the Dangote IPO is simple: what will the share price be? As of this writing, there’s no official public offer price, because no prospectus has been approved or published yet. Here’s what we do and don’t know.
What’s been reported: Dangote Petroleum Refinery completed a private placement round ahead of its formal SEC filing. Reporting on that private placement has cited a per-share price around $0.35 and referenced a resulting company valuation figure, though different outlets have reported somewhat different figures for the size of the raise. It’s important to understand that a private placement price is set in a private transaction with a specific set of investors under different terms than a public offer — it is not the same as, and does not guarantee, the price at which shares would eventually be offered to the general public in the IPO.
What’s not yet known: The actual public offer price or price range, which will only be set and disclosed once the SEC approves the offer and the company publishes its prospectus. Companies typically finalize public offer pricing based on factors including investor demand (sometimes gauged through book building), market conditions closer to the listing date, and the company’s own valuation targets — all of which can shift between a private placement and a public offer.
When to expect it: Realistically, a price range becomes public only at or very close to the point the SEC approves the offer and the prospectus is released — which, per the company’s stated target, could align with efforts toward a September 2026 listing, though no date has been formally approved as of this writing.
Until an official price appears in an SEC-approved prospectus or an official company announcement, treat any specific per-share price you see cited for the public offer as unconfirmed. Daba will highlight the official price range the moment it’s published, so you can evaluate the offer against real numbers rather than estimates.
