Why do I need to provide documents to increase my limit?
For security and regulatory compliance reasons, we must verify that your deposits match your financial capacity. This is a legal requirement imposed by regulatory authorities as part of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) regulations.
What documents can I provide?
You can provide one or more of the following documents depending on your situation:
To prove your income:
- Last 3 months’ payslips
- Employment contract or employment certificate
- Tax assessment or tax return
- Certified financial statements (self-employed/entrepreneurs)
To prove your assets:
- Last 3 months’ bank statements
- Bank balance certificate
- Investment or brokerage account statements
- Property title deed
- Rental income proof
Other:
- Notarized certificate (inheritance, gift)
- Proof of asset sale or exceptional transaction
How many documents do I need to provide?
It depends on your new limit amount (subject to change without notice based on currencies and countries):
- Under 2M FCFA: 1 proof of income is sufficient
- 2M – 5M FCFA: Payslips OR bank statements
- 5M – 25M FCFA: 2 proofs (income + bank statements OR tax assessment)
- Over 25M FCFA: Complete file with income and asset proofs
How can I submit my documents?
You have three secure options:
- Daba Finance mobile app: “Documents” or “My Profile” section
- Secure email: compliance@joindaba.com
All channels are encrypted and secure.
Is my personal data protected?
Absolutely. Your documents are:
- Stored securely and encrypted
- Accessible only to our compliance team
- Used exclusively for regulatory verification
- Protected in accordance with data protection laws
We never share your information with third parties without your explicit consent.
How long does processing take?
- Complete documents: 24-72 business hours
- Incomplete documents: We’ll contact you within 24h for missing items
- Complex files (> 100M FCFA): 3-7 business days
You’ll receive an email and in-app notification once approved.
What happens if I don’t provide documents?
Unfortunately, without supporting documents we cannot increase your limit. Your current limit will remain unchanged and you can continue using your account normally within that limit.
Can I provide documents in foreign languages?
Yes, we accept documents in:
- French
- English
- Other languages with certified translation
For official documents (notarial acts, court orders), a sworn translation may be required.
Do my documents have an expiry date?
Yes, certain documents must be recent:
- Payslips: Last 3 months
- Bank statements: Maximum 3 months old
- Balance certificates: Less than 3 months
- Tax assessments: Latest fiscal year
- Property titles: No expiry limit
I’m self-employed/an entrepreneur, what documents should I provide?
For self-employed individuals and entrepreneurs:
- Tax return or tax certificate
- Certified financial statements (balance sheet, income statement)
- Business registration proof (RCCM, DFE, etc.)
- Business account statements
- Revenue certificate
Can I use bank statements from another bank?
Yes, absolutely! Statements from any licensed bank are accepted, whether local or international.
What if I don’t have payslips?
No problem. You can provide other proofs:
- Employment certificate with salary mention
- Bank statements showing regular transfers
- Tax assessment
- Income certificate signed by your employer
Can my limit be reduced after an increase?
Your limit may be adjusted if:
- Your supporting documents expire (you’ll be notified in advance)
- Your financial situation changes significantly
- Regulatory requirements mandate it
You’ll always be informed beforehand.
How many times can I request an increase?
The number of requests is limited to one request per quarter. Each increase requires a new verification with updated documents.
